I had to read the entire article after catching a bit of what I could see from the clipping. Your mother had a fantastic sense of humor! The descriptions of smelling mothballs, tiring of fires in fireplaces, turkeys, the holidays and the description of Memorial Day were great. The best part was the happiness of college students being gone and with them the noise of the cars and kids late at night. I wish I’d known your Mom but I do see where your sense of irony came from. How lucky you were!
